Collegiûm Mûsicûm Choir and Orchestra

Collegiûm Mûsicûm was founded in 1978 by Professor Jan Christensen. The aim was to establish a musical organisation where amateurs and professionals can play together purely for mutual inspiration and pleasure.
Collegiûm Mûsicûm consists of approximately 100 musicians and singers. The members of the orchestra are professionals and amateurs with professional leaders, while all choir members are amateurs with a professional conductor. At the concerts, Collegiûm Mûsicûm often uses young soloists on the verge of a professional career as well as younger Norwegian conductors.
Several concerts in recent years have been held in conjunction with other key cultural organisations. Previous and current partners include the Bergen International Festival, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hardingtonar Festival, and the contemporary music festival Borealis.
